what a relieve when stevie g had the last scoring...or liverpool will have to go along with a draw AFTER A COUPLE OF LOSSES...urgh...I MISS XABIIIII
while waiting for the real madrid match i figured its probably best to kill time here..
got back from the wushu competition few days back and since the second day of competition, im sick TIL NOW...no..not h1n1...luckily..
anyway..cheras's ok....lots of pressure since its an open competition..and that also means that we can get to see all the national athletes in action as well..and i think among all athletes, they are the ones that are most pressured...being world champion and all...cant afford to lose to little ones.. but the so-called little ones arent so weak after all, in fact they can be of competition..
the trip to kl was TERRIBLE...it was freezing cold the whole 12 hours...and by the time we arrived in kl, my back was so pain..ah well, nothin to complain, cause WE GOT THE SUITE....YES ROOM 888..SUITE...haha ..not realy that grand..just spacious...and automatically that became our temporary training venue...
yes, we used that space for our groupevent practice..and I WAS PART OF IT..
earlier, i wasnt one of the 6 ppl in this event but due to one athlete being kicked out of our team, I GOTTA BE ONE OF THEM...oh man, me ... on a group event...thats gonna be terrible....
opening ceremony was quite interesting, with some wushu+contemporary dance performance, singing performance by my relative ( wang xue jing) SERIOUS!! she's my far cousin...but well no big deal..dun noe her anyway.. also a few interesing performance by groups of martial artists....however the highly anticipated dragon dance was rubbish...the independant sch here in kok lanas can do ten times better...
first day of competition, my event didn go well..ah...screw that, eventho my sanzi's routine went on ok, i din manage any place among the top 6..but nvm, wasnt expecting alot either..but a national athlete from kelantan got us a silver anyway, Ang Eng Chong ( same chinese name as my eldest bro haha).. we had a teams' dinner ..the food wasnt that good except for the roasted chicken..but mayb its just me starting to not feeling very well....sure enuf i was having sorethroat and slight fever after dinner..and wats worse is that we gotta rearrange a brand new routine for the group event and practised til 2 am..just like we did the previous night...
NX MORNING...woke up at 5 am..feelin like crap.. couldn slp at night coughin myself away thruout the night...i really thought i was goin go faint...as i was shivering like hell...before and after bath....it might be due to me not feeling well OR..THE PRESSURE I WAS FACING...preparing for the last minute group event....either way, i felt terrible....almost like givin up... HOWEVER..my long weapon event that i took part for this first time was OK!!! even gotmyself a 4th ( or 5th im not sure )placing! YAY...no medal..but im happy enuf...for gettin a cert for this first time eventof mine... after that .. there was not time for relaxing ..gotta prepare for duilian and group event..AH DUILIAN WAS RIDICULOUS...WE GOT THE LAST PLACING..HEHE..but the men's on the other hand was nice!! kai chuan+soon ching vs the 12 year old, 3 heads shorter than his 2 opponents kid--chin wei.... so as expected the crowd was amazed by their performance..altho not flawless but stil pleasant to see..UNLIKE OURS...I CANT EVEN BEAR TO IMAGINE...
it was as if time fast foward because just few minutes after that its the group event!! wth...im so not prepared...but wth again...just go out there and do it...FOR THIS EVENT..i also cant bear to see what i did...but it actually felt good..out there doin our thing with my teammates....plus..the LAST MINUTE MUSIC found was COOL!! it just felt so....i duno why.... in the end...7.77...the points we obtained..HEY NOT BAD RIGHT..FOR A 2 DAYS PREPARED ROUTINE...hahaha....
once the competition ended...it was like the weight of the world off us....everyone became so relaxed....where else to celebrate?? MOVIE!!! we headed to midvalley for dinner and they proceed with GI JOE..meanwhile i hang out with my college friends who are kind enuf to come pick me...we went for JALAN 222 charcoal hokkien mee with mich, kar yan, jonathan, cheemo, guang and zhiboy..AND NX STOP giant roti tisu in ss2's kayu...yes im stil very sick but WHO CARES!!! I MISS MY FRIENDS!!! ALTHO WE ONLY SPENT LIKE 2 HOURS..but...im glad enough....i might not be able to see some of them the nx time i come back...sob sob... back at the suite that night, my throat got worst and due to slp deprivation for few nights , i SLEPT LIKE LOG AND MISSED THE LIVERPOOL GAME!! but they lost anyway..-.-
nx morning we just hang out a while in petaling street, lookin at fake stuffs, gettin some food...cant realy go anywhere coz the boys are more interested in playin pool back in the hotel...URGH.. but im not in the mood of goin anywher anyway..so we just have a rest in starbucks at the hotel...by evening, we met up with ong ee and board the torturing train back to kb...

..and so it begins...
epl's started and tonite wil be the first game for liv...vs tottenham....hopefully mistakes arent repeated.....
anyway...its a sunday morning and i am finally done teaching.....so im havin my free time for this whole week...at least up to friday..when i'll be leaving for cheras for the competition...it has been tough for the past few weeks due to the daily training...and my poor knees have been suffering alot and so does my stamina both mentally and physically..for this final week of training..it will be for the preparation of duilian..also my first time for this event...fingers crossed that i can pull it off....
last week my family was busy entertaining the relatives who came in from both UK and SINGAPORE...no..none of my age..all my great grands and my grands..and i should be lucky to have my great grands as fit as fiddles..stil able to cook nyonya food for me ( ya i guess this makes me partly nyonya too!!) and watchin soccer with me!!
besides that are my grandaunt Angela and granduncle Noel...who enjoys durian and believe it or not..he actually spent 25 pounds back in UK for a pathetic little durian...wherelse we could get loads of them back here for just 10 bucks... therefore during his stay here, he practically stuffed himself with all the local fruits...
and i also get to look at pictures of their grandchildren..and by that would be my cousins....i would say they all look beautiful , being mixed (burmese-australian-british) haha...they might be coming in the nx year...would be fun then!!
we had a family reunion at some restaurant for the last nite before they flew back and it was quite a great one..everyone had fun ESPECIALLY THE OLD FOLKS...singin karaok away...and of course i snapped a marvellous photo of my greatgranduncle singing together with my granduncle...what a combination huh...
meanwhile ee jane and maria will be leaving for the states soon and we had some get together yesterday .. also went to pcb for some fun...they were so fascinated by the beach...but i guess im even luckier to be able to have this kinda outings almost everyweekend..plus with an even nicer view...and speakin of that the last outing was at lata bali (not bali).. its actually a very broad river and at the upstream..there are many mini falls....it used to be heavenly but due to the loggings, its almost ruined...we had lotsa fun having free fish spa( yes the fishes just nibble ur toes, exactly like the fish spa..just with better nature view and no burning of pockets) and also massaging spa ( by the strong waterfalls striking our every muscle of our body ) believe me...its awesome...the trip up the place was also nice...but it requires 4 wheels drive so my dad and i hopped on to another trooper and made our way up...the experience was great, just like those adventurers hiking up rough trails...hope to come again in future..

IM NOT THE THIRD "STAR" OF JALAN HAMZAH ANYMORE!!!
if anyone's wondering whose the first and second star of jalan hamzah, KEEP WONDERING..muahahah am not gonna tell...
actually thats somethin my big bro made up...im already 19 and just passed my driving test this morning..and before this, my brothers always teased me not havin a drivin license yet and big bro somehow came up with me being the 3 stars( not having license ) of my residential area...SO SINCE I'VE OFFICIALLY PASSED THE TEST IM NOT!!
BUT i wouldn say im a very good driver yet...JPJ may have marked me as LULUS this morning, but i think my parents just failed me a while ago when i took them around the taman..probably its because the diferent size of car used and also switching from manual to auto...GIVE ME SOME TIME~~ I CAN DO IT..
meanwhile, the death rate caused by swine flu is increasing rapidly recently and many students in the school im teachin kinda get the "sickbug" ..just hope they aint confirm cases of swine flu...i am having headache the whole evening myself...but cant possibly miss trainings so just popped in painkllers and went on....hope i can just sleep it off..
after training, my parents and i went to get some supper for big bro who is workin til midnight later...and we have some teh tarik for ourselves.. THEN my dad told me mom actually told the buddha jesus allah joke to their friends just now... I CANT BELIEVE IT...and my mom went on sniggering.. i asked her how she came to know of the joke..and she asked ME how I knew bout it..-.-..thats not even an answer lar ma...but our versions are slightly different.. well just some joke anyway..no hard feelings for anyone affected yea.. XD

cocktails on a hot summer day
WSJ Magazine Daily July 24,
2009 Distilled: Cool Summer Cocktails
The Standard Hotel’s barkeep Cory Mason serves up twists on classic drinks
By: Michael Frew
PENNY DROP
One of the most popular drinks at the Living Room, the Penny Drop is Mason’s updated version of the Moscow Mule, a cocktail once enjoyed by movie stars in the ‘30’s and ‘40’s but now only drunk by your unhip great aunt. In addition to the traditional vodka and ginger beer, Mason likes to add his own housemade ginger syrup, giving the drink a spicy, rounded taste with what Mason calls a “golden,” toasted note.
2 oz. vodka
1 oz. ginger syrup*
1 oz. lime juice
ginger beer
Pour vodka, ginger syrup and lime juice over ice cubes in, preferably, a copper or pewter mug (if no mugs, a Collins glass will work just fine). Stir. Top off with ginger beer. Try to resist the temptation of gulping this drink down—it packs a subtly disguised wallop.
*You can make your own ginger syrup by adding crushed fresh ginger to simple syrup while it is on the stove or, even easier, buy a small bottle of it in a Chinese market.
SUMMER BRAMBLE
A simple, refreshing take on a traditional Gin Fizz. For soda water the Summer Bramble substitutes macerated fresh berries, which complement the gin’s botanicals and stains the drink a beautiful swirling color as they infuse downwards.
1 ½ oz. gin
¾ oz. lemon juice
¾ oz. simple syrup
macerated seasonal berries*
Combine gin, lemon juice and simple syrup in a shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake. Pour over crushed ice in an old-fashioned glass. Top with a teaspoon or two of macerated berries. Contemplate the swirling patterns as the drink revives you.
*Use any combination of berries that are fresh and in season (such as blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and wild strawberries). Crush the berries in a bowl. Add sugar to taste. If no fresh berries are close at hand, a good berry preserve can be substituted.
JACKIE 60
Finally, Mason told me that one of his loftier goals as a barkeep is to “educate people away from their drinking habits” by showing them what is possible. The Jackie 60 (that we assume is in honor of a Meatpacking District club of the same name from the 1990s) seems a bold attempt to redefine the margarita, a drink too often associated with pre-made mixers and glorified Slurpee machines. In fact, to call this cocktail an updated margarita is not really to do it justice. The mezcal used in place of tequila gives the cocktail a bracing, smoky quality that lingers with you between sips—a kind of strange, exciting melding of Islay and Club Med. The smoked salt rimming takes the drink to near genius level.
2 oz. mezcal*
1 oz. lime juice
2/3 oz. agave nectar
smoked salt**
honey
Combine mezcal, lime juice and agave nectar in a shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake well. Use honey to rim an old-fashioned glass with smoked salt. Fill glass with crushed ice. Pour the drink mixture into the glass over the crushed ice. Sip slowly and savor.
*Selecting a good single village mezcal, like Del Maguey Chichicapa, is a key to making a successful cocktail.
**The other key is using smoked salt, which can be bought at a decent gourmet grocery store or from the artisanal spice company La Boîte à Epices, the best according to Cory Mason.
see if we could try them out!!

my not so "holi"-day
weeks have passed since i came back to kb ..and for the first few weeks..im super free, just watchin series , goin for few wushu trainings..and ocassionaly attending driving lessons...but for this recent week...MY LIFE IS SUDDENLY JUST AS IT WAS WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL---------->HECTIC
believe it or not but i am actually teachin in a CHINESE SCHOOL...alright its not really a big deal...it was actually my ex primary sch too...some "wind" about me being extremely free for 6 months somehow reached my primary sch teacher and the nx minute..im being called up to be a temp teacher....not wanting to turn down my dear teacher...I AGREED TO IT!!!
getting up 6 in the morning is so not my thing since last year....and i actually woke up feeling grumpy for the whole recent week...for not havin enuf slp....
not only am i havin the 7 to 1 job in school, i have driving lessons almost every day from 3 to 6...and wushu EVERYNITE 8 TO 1030..THATS THE TIRING PART...so right now im havin migrain but somehow im stil able to type this post...
school--->brought back alot of memories...makes me wonder...WAS I LIKE THAT...haha but perhaps not..kids nowadays are harder to handle.. I took a few classes like 5k 4u 3u..mainly 5k...and..this class..was kind of a disaster...there are a few really naughty ones who just plain disrespectful to temp teachers like me...they just wouldnt give me a minute of silence in class...however there were oso some who actually make peace with me on some terms...in other words..i had to talk to them and try to understand them AND also make them be clear of what i hope from them...so far i can sense a couple of them not being really that bad....but stil theres stil a number who JUST WOULDN LISTEN..as for those...ah what the hell...to them im just a dumb temp teacher...no use giving respect to these students who clearly do not know how to respect teachers...
wushu-----> going for the DAMACAI national comp in cheras end of august , so we are havin trainings every night!!! this would be my first time in this national competition...years back ive only participated in national youth...for this..it would be a bigger event because it includes athletes of all ages...and also from the national team..might be interesting..but there's a lot of hard work for us participants...not that i am expecting medals for myself this trip but at least i hope not to let myself , my coach and my team down...so just gonna go out and do my best...
anyway during this morning's training,we cleaned up our training venue and it seems we werent the only living creature spending alot of hours there...WE FOUND SNAKES, CENTIPEDE AND ROACHES!!! snakes especially..its not just any ordinary snakes...we found 3 baby snakes...beautiful ones...and zong collected them in bottles...the third one we found crawling and it was hard to catch so zong, takin hern's brilliant idea of steppin its head, did as he was told..and the snake suddenly stopped moving..looks like it was dead...or dying..poor thing...i tried picking it up ..it wasnt wriggling as actively..so we just left it as it was....BUT THEN..IT MIRACULOUSLY STARTED WRIGGLING AGAIN!! probably he just suffered a blackout..HAHA...anyway...im pretty sure there's a mother snake somewher out there...hopefully it isnt harmful but i think it might be poisonous..at least tats what my dad's friend said when i showed him the picture

actually, i just came back from tembila...YUP! TEMBILA AGAIN...this time there was an addition of 2 members ..my second bro and his gf cindy are here for the week so they joined us...
the sea water and river water is awesome today...and we managed to catch hold of many starfish...ALIVE ONES...crabs and we also get to see a cave full of bats....it's never a boring trip to tembila altho ive been there for like....uncountable times...and hope cindy enjoyed herself too...
ah well at least tomorrow ive nothing on until the wushu training at night...so guess ill have enuf rest to sleep off my migrain...just before MY ANOTHER HECTIC WEEK BEGINS...=.=

everything in the last few weeks of college life...prom,redang...
so ive completed alevels....
so ive finished college....
so im gonna part with all my friends who have made my college life a lot sweeter....
im gonna miss it alot....
pre prom days @ post exam days are truly relaxing but still exciting in some way....the girls and i went for shoeshopping....and i got myself a purplish silver heels..which goes with my dress.... and well...stayed over at peiling's place...nice room she had....and up to prom night we spend most of our time at her place..
oh well prom was not too bad...except for me looking totally unlike me...that i can barely even recognize myself...it truly is a one night makeover...so as they said..prom isnt very nice..more of...photo sessions..which we had too...the peak of the prom might be when everyone get down to the dancefloor..despite blisters all over my feet...we danced like nobody's business....which is quite a thing as my classmates are not so much of partygoers..
speaking of blisters...i got it durin the grandpiano gala concert by chopin society..just 2 days before the prom..IMAGINE THAT..BLISTERS BEFORE PROM...vic and i went to klcc for this concert where i met up with my dear piano teacher, miss tan... the concert was not too bad..especially performances by korean and hongkong pianists...and ya..the blisters is the result of lots of walkin in heels to and fro klcc...luckily im was once "good friends" with blisters durin my dancing days... i can stil bear the pain...or not..vic wud be in trouble if i cant even walk...in fact i joined his bunch of classmates for late supper after the event..and i dun have to walk so much since sean has his car to drop us off our houses..
REDANG!!!! this trip is the much anticipated one...4 days 3 nites of island life ... who would say no to it... unlike vic's class..my class took the flight to kt....and i realised that havin companion on flight tend to reduce my phobia of flying..altho THE zhi hao sitting beside me basically slept thru out the journey -.-.... the boat trip to redang WAS SO ROUGH THAT I ALMOST THOUGHT THAT OUR BOAT WIL BE OVERTURNED...trust me...its wayy more exciting than any rollercoaster ride... i cant wait to get into sea once we reached redang so we went for our firsrt snorkelling trip somewher in the middle of the sea...due to my blindness i had to use lenses...back at the resort..we stil hadn have enuf of snorkelling so miss ho, zhi hao, scott , jsun loong and i went for a long swim round the gulf...and oh great..just half way thru...scott saw my lenses went swimming too...urgh..i dropped them and missed all the sight of eels and the sharks..-.-
that night we were all so tired...so we just had a short walk along the beach and went back to sleep EVEN BEFORE 12 HAHA...the nx morning we went to the marine park and vic's group was there too...this trip, i wasnt the only girl from our class...cause the rest of my frens all decided that theres ntg else to do if they do not snorkel...so we helped kar yan out cause she cant really swim but i think she is very brave to go against the strong waves...marine park has lotsa fishes too but i got seasick and ended up half dead on the sand...and it didn get better until i got back to the resort and slept it off for 2 hours....that afternoon...i skipped the snorkelling trip and went for beach sports instead...volleyball and frisbees...that nite..we 4 girls got ourselves our first tattoos MUAHAHAHHA AIR BRUSH LAR...not the real thing...and later, scott and i joined victor for a walk in search of the blue spirit..hehe..im stil not sure what isit but its sth that glows in the dark....some minerals perhaps...and then we just hang out at his resort and also by the beach....had quite a long talk together...since 3 of us are also gonna part...3 of us of the taylors choir...we are gonna miss all the practices, performances and hangingouts we had together...
the nx morning, vic's class left redang and we stil had a whole day in redang...so as usual...we went for snorkelling..and this day i saw jelly fish..many big fishes...and finally saw the shark i longed to see...after the afternoon snorkelling session, we wanted to play the banana boat but sadly the waves are too big...AND I ENDED UP goin around the gulf YET ANOTHER TIME with zhi hao and weiguang...half way thru it...i felt so damn seasick but its no way im gonna turn back...so i went along...AND I GOT SEASICK FOR THE SECOND TIME-.- if only i dun get sick so easily....for the last evening in redang...we played frisbees..which was so much fun and at night...we ALL went to look for the blue spirit..and on the way back we just chill out at the laguna resort's pub for some cocktails and some nice live band....
time flies and we are already at the last morning of our redang stay...we woke up to see sunrise...which isnt really tat obvious...and according to sean..we shud stay til 7 sth to see the real thing..but too bad...I WENT BACK TO SLEEP ALREADY..haha...was dead tired after so much swimming the day earlier..
by noon we 've already left redang and got to kt...kt trip wasnt that fun since we only walked around china town which was obviously closed on a friday...so they just ended up playin poker AGAIN... hahaha..by night we flew back to subang...and tat night im sure everyone slept soundly in their own beds...
the nx morning WE MET UP AGAIN..haha seems we just cant help spending the last few days together...this time..ravjit was back from singapore to join us for lunch and movies....oh well im sure he has a great group of friends there too.... at nite...I WENT SUNWAY AGAIN-.-...for the second time that day..with ben and vic...well ben is lookin for some special edition tiger beer bottle...and we ended up buyin too..haha.. we then hung out at the " once HAI LUO now O CIRCLE pub and restaurant..."well the 2 guys singing on stage is not too bad too...if only they can sing in english..HAHA...
so ive finished college....
so im gonna part with all my friends who have made my college life a lot sweeter....
im gonna miss it alot....
pre prom days @ post exam days are truly relaxing but still exciting in some way....the girls and i went for shoeshopping....and i got myself a purplish silver heels..which goes with my dress.... and well...stayed over at peiling's place...nice room she had....and up to prom night we spend most of our time at her place..
oh well prom was not too bad...except for me looking totally unlike me...that i can barely even recognize myself...it truly is a one night makeover...so as they said..prom isnt very nice..more of...photo sessions..which we had too...the peak of the prom might be when everyone get down to the dancefloor..despite blisters all over my feet...we danced like nobody's business....which is quite a thing as my classmates are not so much of partygoers..
speaking of blisters...i got it durin the grandpiano gala concert by chopin society..just 2 days before the prom..IMAGINE THAT..BLISTERS BEFORE PROM...vic and i went to klcc for this concert where i met up with my dear piano teacher, miss tan... the concert was not too bad..especially performances by korean and hongkong pianists...and ya..the blisters is the result of lots of walkin in heels to and fro klcc...luckily im was once "good friends" with blisters durin my dancing days... i can stil bear the pain...or not..vic wud be in trouble if i cant even walk...in fact i joined his bunch of classmates for late supper after the event..and i dun have to walk so much since sean has his car to drop us off our houses..
REDANG!!!! this trip is the much anticipated one...4 days 3 nites of island life ... who would say no to it... unlike vic's class..my class took the flight to kt....and i realised that havin companion on flight tend to reduce my phobia of flying..altho THE zhi hao sitting beside me basically slept thru out the journey -.-.... the boat trip to redang WAS SO ROUGH THAT I ALMOST THOUGHT THAT OUR BOAT WIL BE OVERTURNED...trust me...its wayy more exciting than any rollercoaster ride... i cant wait to get into sea once we reached redang so we went for our firsrt snorkelling trip somewher in the middle of the sea...due to my blindness i had to use lenses...back at the resort..we stil hadn have enuf of snorkelling so miss ho, zhi hao, scott , jsun loong and i went for a long swim round the gulf...and oh great..just half way thru...scott saw my lenses went swimming too...urgh..i dropped them and missed all the sight of eels and the sharks..-.-
that night we were all so tired...so we just had a short walk along the beach and went back to sleep EVEN BEFORE 12 HAHA...the nx morning we went to the marine park and vic's group was there too...this trip, i wasnt the only girl from our class...cause the rest of my frens all decided that theres ntg else to do if they do not snorkel...so we helped kar yan out cause she cant really swim but i think she is very brave to go against the strong waves...marine park has lotsa fishes too but i got seasick and ended up half dead on the sand...and it didn get better until i got back to the resort and slept it off for 2 hours....that afternoon...i skipped the snorkelling trip and went for beach sports instead...volleyball and frisbees...that nite..we 4 girls got ourselves our first tattoos MUAHAHAHHA AIR BRUSH LAR...not the real thing...and later, scott and i joined victor for a walk in search of the blue spirit..hehe..im stil not sure what isit but its sth that glows in the dark....some minerals perhaps...and then we just hang out at his resort and also by the beach....had quite a long talk together...since 3 of us are also gonna part...3 of us of the taylors choir...we are gonna miss all the practices, performances and hangingouts we had together...
the nx morning, vic's class left redang and we stil had a whole day in redang...so as usual...we went for snorkelling..and this day i saw jelly fish..many big fishes...and finally saw the shark i longed to see...after the afternoon snorkelling session, we wanted to play the banana boat but sadly the waves are too big...AND I ENDED UP goin around the gulf YET ANOTHER TIME with zhi hao and weiguang...half way thru it...i felt so damn seasick but its no way im gonna turn back...so i went along...AND I GOT SEASICK FOR THE SECOND TIME-.- if only i dun get sick so easily....for the last evening in redang...we played frisbees..which was so much fun and at night...we ALL went to look for the blue spirit..and on the way back we just chill out at the laguna resort's pub for some cocktails and some nice live band....

How The Champions League finals was won and lost

Barcelona Lifting the Champion League Throphy and Celebrating 2008/2009 - The best bloopers are a click away
highlights of the match
92 mins: FULL TIME Barcelona 2 United 0 Messi 1 Ronaldo 0. Look on the bright side - at least United won't have to go to Abu Dhabi for the World Club Cup in January.
89 mins: United ratings: E Van der Sar 6 – J O’Shea 5, R Ferdinand 4, N Vidic 4, P Evra 6 – Anderson 3, M Carrick 4, R Giggs 4 - Park Ji Sung 4, C Ronaldo 5, W Rooney 6.
Not going to bother with Barcelona: they're about to lift the European Cup and they're about to win The Treble - that's all you need to know.
85 mins: Where's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when you need him? Where's Teddy Sheringham? Half chance for Berbatov but he heads over the bar from close range.
80 mins: Bad night at the office for United. They started well, but fell apart as soon as Barcelona scored. Anderson and Giggs had shockers, Vidic and Ferdinand have been given the runaround and Berbatov and Tevez have been anonymous. Who's idea was it to play in all-white? Against Barcelona?
78 mins: Ronaldo is booked for barging into Puyol. Scholes is booked for a late tackle on Busquets.
74 mins: Scholes replaces Giggs. Fergie's looking shellshocked - the man who doesn't lose finals is losing 2-0.
71 mins: Keita replaces Henry. Scholes is getting ready to come on.

70 mins: Barcelona 2 United 0 Messi beats Van der Sar with a powerful far-post header. Where was Ferdinand? Where was O'Shea? Nowhere. Great cross by Xavi, though.
69 mins: Keita getting ready to come on for Barcelona.
65 mins: Berbatov replaces Park. Ronaldo goes up for a header with Puyol and the Spain defender falls over holding his head. Fergie is on his feet and he's directing operations from his technical area. Maybe that will work - nothing else has.
63 mins: Berbatov is about to come on. Are United going to throw everything at Barcelona for the last 25 minutes?
61 mins: Paul Scholes is warming up. Rooney is getting more room on the right and he's got the beating of Sylvinho.
57 mins: United are so worried by Barcelona's attacking threat that they are defending too deep. Guardiola applauds his players from the touchline as Barcelona continue to make the running. 1-0 is the most common scoreline in European Cup finals. Great.
55 mins: United's first chance of the second half. Rooney crosses from the right, but the bounce of the ball beats Park at the far post.
52 mins: Barcelona hit the post. Xavi takes a free kick from the edge of the penalty area and a post saves United. Ferguson has taken a massive gamble by switching to 4-4-2 and Barcelona are looking even more dangeous now that they are getting more time on the ball. Barcelona's defence was supposed to be dodgy, but Puyol and Co have hardly put a foot wrong so far.
48 mins: Henry turns Ferdinand inside out and only a crucial save by Van der Sar keeps United in the game.
46 mins: Tevez is coming on for Anderson. Giggs is moving into the middle alongside Carrick, Rooney is moving onto the right - his third position of the night - and Park is switching to the left.
45 mins: HALF-TIME Barcelona 1 United 0 Let's hope Fergie remembered to pack his hairdryer.
40 mins: United attack but Park falls over - that just sums up the past half hour as far as United are concerned. Messi is playing deep and in the middle and that's causing United all sorts of problems. Giggs has moved onto the left wing and Rooney is trying his luck through the middle.
35 mins: United are missing Darren Fletcher. It's Giggs, Carrick and Anderson versus Xavi, Busquets and Iniesta in midfield and the Barcelona players are coming out on top. The crowd are quiet and that's doing nothing for United's confidence. It's men against boys at the moment and the boys are wearing white.
30 mins: United have still not recovered from conceding a goal. Messi is giving Vidic a hard time and United are chasing shadows. Rooney is getting nothing out of Puyol and Barcelona are getting too much time on the ball. When is it going to be Tevez time?
24 mins: Barcelona are controlling the game and Fergie is looking worried on the United bench. Free-kick to Barcelona 25 yards out after Anderson fouls Iniesta. Xavi's strike just misses the crossbar.
18 mins: Messi tries his luck from 25 yards after cutting in from the right but his vicious strike flashes over the bar.
15 mins: Pique booked for blocking Ronaldo on the edge of the area. Pique lucky not to see red. Giggs takes the free-kick but his left-foot strike flies over the bar and lands on the running track.
13 mins: If United are going to lift the European Cup for the fourth time they are going to have to do it the hard way. They are used to doing it the hard way.

10 mins: Barcelona 1 United 0 Eto'o cuts in from the right and beats Van der Sar at his near post. Barcelona have scored with their first attack thanks to a clever through ball from Iniesta. Vidic and Anderson should have done better.
8 mins: Another half chance for Ronaldo - he controls the ball with his chest but his left-foot effort is off target.
4 mins: United are looking dangerous as Barcelona take their time to get into gear. This is only the third final between an English and a Spanish side. Ronaldo tries his luck again from 35 yards but his right-foot strike flies wide. Barcelona have lost their past two matches and haven't found their passing rhythm yet.
1 min: Ronaldo almost scores with a free-kick from 32 yards. Valdes makes a decent block before Pique clears the danger.
7.45pm: Barcelona kick off. Park is playing on the right and Rooney is on the left.
7.42pm: The teams are on the pitch and United are wearing natty new black and gold tracksuit tops which they take off to pose for the official team picture. United are playing in all white; Barcelona are in their famous red and blue shirts.
7.40pm: The opening ceremony is over. Nothing new to report - just the usual nuttiness. Lots of people in strange costumes doing stange things that are supposed to mean something.
7.15pm: The stadium's full, Michel Platini is hugging everyone, Prince William is looking very smart, Silvio Berlusconi is behaving himself and Fergie is having a quiet word with the boys in the dressing-room.
Ruud Gullit reckons this game is as big as the World Cup final and who are we to argue. "Everyone in the world is watching," Gullit says. Why are you wearing a skinny tie, then?
7pm: Wisla Krakow and Shakhtar Donetsk are not playing tonight, but they've both beaten Barcelona in the Champions League this season. Wisla beat Pep Guardiola's team 1-0 at home in the third qualifying round and Shakhtar won 3-2 at the Nou Camp in the group stage. Let's hope Fergie's watched the DVDs.
6.47pm: The teams are in...
Barcelona (4-3-3): V Valdes – C Puyol, Y Toure, G Pique, Sylvinho – Xavi Hernandes, S Busquets, A Iniesta – L Messi, S Eto’o, T Henry.
Substitutes: J-M Pinto, M Caceres, J Gudjohnsen, Bojan, S Keita, P Rodriguez, Muniesa.
Manchester United (4-3-3): E Van der Sar – J O’Shea, R Ferdinand, N Vidic, P Evra – Anderson, M Carrick, R Giggs - Park Ji Sung, C Ronaldo, W Rooney.
Substitutes: T Kuszczak, D Berbatov, Nani, P Scholes, Rafael Da Silva, J Evans, C Tevez.
Referee: M Busacca (Switzerland)
6.45pm: Team news: Ferguson has decided to stick with the team that beat Arsenal in the semi final at the Emirates Stadium - only United change is Ryan Giggs in for Darren Fletcher, who is suspended.
Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez have to settle for a place on the bench - that's about £60 million worth of strikers taking it easy on the touchline.
Thierry Henry and Andres Iniesta are fit to start for Barcelona. Sylvinho takes over from Eric Abidal at left back. The last time Sylvinho played against United - for Arsenal - he lost 6-1. Let's hope that's an omen.
6.15pm: Sky have just run a surreal interview with Cristiano Ronaldo where he was interviewing himself. The final question that he asked himself was: "What about Real Madrid?" His response? "How many times do I have to answer this question? I am happy here."
6pm: Manchester United have arrived at the Stadio Olimpico and some of the players who are not expected to start - Wes Brown, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville - are on the pitch in their Paul Smith suits.
United arrived in smart club suits, Barcelona have turned up in casual shirts and tracksuits bottoms, which is not suprising considering that Pep Guardiola looks like he spends his days off shopping in Zara.
Only Barcelona stand in the way of Manchester United lifting the European Cup for the fourth time at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome this evening.
Sir Alex Ferguson has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from as United attempt to become the first team to retain the trophy since the Champions League format was introduced in 1992-93.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2009
found this on dirty tackle..
DT Exclusive: Final showdown
With all the unimaginative journalists asking whether Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world as we prepare for their face-off in the Champions League final, the two of them decided to settle it once and for all with a debate. The following is a transcript of that debate, which took place in the VIP room of a gentlemen’s club in Rome.
Ronaldo: Ok. I will begin. I am the best because I have magical ball control, genius vision, and I can score from anywhere on the pitch.
Messi: Me too.
Ronaldo: Damnit you’re right! We are both so good that it’s stupid to try and put one of us above the other based on skill alone. We need to look at the intangibles.
Messi: Well…I overcame a growth hormone deficiency as a child and had to move to a different country to get treatment.
Ronaldo: And I have overcome being loved by women all over the world. Still even.
Messi: I’m an accomplished diver.
Ronaldo: As am I.
Messi: Maradona thinks I’m awesome.
Ronaldo: Pele gave me the World Player of the Year award. And he gave me his autograph.
Messi: I can cut my own hair.
Ronaldo: I can put gel in mine and make it look like a plastic hat.
Messi: I like legos.
Ronaldo: Every wall in my house is mirrored. And sticky.
Messi: I can do this… [drools a strand of saliva that touches the floor, sucks it back up]
Ronaldo: I can do this… [bangs a hooker]
Messi: Ugh, I don’t think we’re ever going to settle this.
Ronaldo: Yeah. It’s really kind of pointless. Especially since I’m three years older than you, so whatever criticisms people have about your game could easily be gone by the time you’re my age. Plus I just decided I’m a wizard so I win.
Messi: Neato!

THE 2009 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL DRINKING GAME
You must take a mouthful of alcohol when any of the following occur
The fact that Man United won the CL ten years ago in the Nou Camp is mentioned.
Ronaldo or Messi beats more than one man in a single run.
The fact that the two best players in the world are on show is mentioned by anyone.
An English commentator mispronounces a Barca player’s name.
If Barca string together more than ten passes in a move, you must drink for every subsequent pass.
If anyone goes down a bit easy/dives
Someone is booked
Any substitution is made. You must take a longer drink if two are made at the same time.
Kill your drink when
Someone scores (disallowed goals are entirely your discretion, but will probably amount to which side your supporting, and whose goal was disallowed)
Either Pep or Mr Alex are ranting at the ref
At Half and Full Time (including extra time if they/you make it that far)
A penalty is given (A shootout is your call)
Anyone is sent off
From the Second Half onwards
You have to refer to the teams by their nicknames. For referemce, these are La Blaugrana and The Red Devils. “Barca”, “Man U” or even “Man Utd” are not acceptable as nicknames for these purposes.
However if it goes to extra time, revert back to calling them by their proper names to confuse everyone.
Every ten minutes a member of your party (you can make it every five if you have alot of people/you want to get very drunk) can make up a new rule based on how the game is going. So for example, if someone starts doing something regularly, or a commentator mentions something frequently, incorporate it.
